This collection of watercolors was painted in February 2020. Due to a rapidly descending disaster (2019-nCoV), each of us was suddenly exiled within our own homes. Unlike my usual habit of staying indoors for work, this time — though I was still painting — as the lockdown stretched on and the pandemic worsened, I increasingly felt the loneliness and oppression of being imprisoned alone indoors. Along with this came a growing sense of suffocation, fueled by the overwhelming flood of pandemic news. Society and the individual alike were swept into a state of complete standstill. I longed for breath — both physical and spiritual.
