感谢策展人Tereza及狮语画廊的邀请,使我能在此完整呈现姊妹篇《柏林回忆录》。此次展出的新作,是我结束柏林驻留后,返回成都工作室完成的。有趣的是,创作时间的长度与柏林相仿。
展场分为“生活在此处”,“此处”与“一封家书”三部分,通过绘画、影像及现场装置,以回忆的视角呈现柏林驻留期间的收获与感悟。
柏林的驻留生活,出发前是别处,抵达后,则变成了此处。
米兰昆德拉说:“当生活在别处时,那是梦,是艺术,是诗。而当别处一旦变为此处,崇高感随即便变为生活的另一面:残酷。”
 这一个系列的作品更像是一个简短的柏林回忆录,在我还未遗忘细微的情绪前一种快速的记录;柏林驻留期间的作品和这部分作品构成了硬币的正反面,对我而言,柏林驻留期间的创作更像是“生活在别处”,更多的是因陌生而产生的热烈渴望;而这部分作品则是不再把自己作为局外人之后重新回看柏林生活的此处。在别处时你只顾着往前跑,无暇顾及;在此处却重新收获生活的复杂性。

Thanks to curator Tereza and Leo Gallery for the invitation, which has allowed me to fully present the companion piece Berlin Memoirs. The new works on display this time were completed at my studio in Chengdu after concluding my residency in Berlin. Interestingly, the duration of the creative process closely paralleled that of my time in Berlin.
The exhibition space is divided into three sections: "Living Here," "The Scale of Time ," and "A Letter From Home." Through paintings, video works, and on-site installations, these pieces convey the insights and reflections gained during the Berlin residency from the perspective of memory.
The residency in Berlin, before departure, was elsewhere, but upon arrival, it became here. 
Milan Kundera said, “When life is elsewhere, it is a dream, art, poetry. But when elsewhere becomes here, the feeling of sublimity immediately turns into the other side of life : cruelty .”
This series of works is more like a brief memoir of Berlin, a quick record before I forget the subtle emotions. The works created during my residency in Berlin and this section of works form the two sides of a coin. For me, the creations during my residency in Berlin were more like “living elsewhere,”It is more of an intense longing arising from unfamiliarity. while this part of the work reflects on Berlin life as “here,” no longer viewing myself as an outsider. When you are elsewhere, you only focus on moving forward, with no time to notice; but here, you re-experience the complexity of life.

Part2 《此处》The Scale of Time
由两件作品组成,一件是柏林驻留工作室的摄影,另外一件是现场的装置。 柏林驻留工作室只有一扇可以打开的窗户,我每天必须通过攀爬这个近三米的梯子才可以打开窗户呼吸到外面的新鲜空气,起初梯子上什么都没有,随着我工作的变化,梯子被一片两片……擦笔布所覆盖,我就踩着一片,两片…擦笔布去打开窗户,当梯子被8片擦笔布完整覆盖完的时候,我的驻留生活也结束了。这个过程非常有趣,它成为了我柏林驻留生活一把时间的尺子,也象征了从落地的生活走向未知生活的一种过程。回到中国后,我开始准备柏林回忆录的作品,有趣的是,几乎和柏林驻留同样的工作时长,我重新收获了八块新的擦笔布,于是我把它们做成一件柔软的悬梯,对应了与柏林驻留生涯相似的时间尺度,不一样的是,这一次的梯子是重新返回落地生活的过程。
Comprised of a photograph and an installation, this work explores the rhythm of residency life. In Berlin, my only access to fresh air was a window at the top of a three-meter ladder. What began as a bare frame slowly transformed; piece by piece, brush-wiping cloths began to shroud the rungs. I climbed these cloths daily until eight of them marked the end of my stay—a tactile "ruler of time" charting my ascent from the grounded to the unknown.
Back in China, as I prepared my Berlin Memoirs, time repeated itself. Over an equal duration of work, eight new cloths emerged. I have fashioned them into a soft, suspended ladder—a twin to the Berlin timescale, yet moving in the opposite direction: a descent back into the grounded reality of home.

Part3 《一封家书》A Letter from Home

柏林驻留期间,我在工作前或者朋友拜访,会习惯性地泡上一杯茶,茶渣被丢弃在暖气片下方的盘子里,时间久了茶叶被重新烘干,每一片茶叶像一个小小的雕塑一样。我把在柏林喝过的茶渣重新带回中国,用茶叶写了一封信,这封信无法阅读,就像是我在柏林思念中国的情绪,或者我重新返回中国对柏林的怀念。

During my residency in Berlin, I developed a habit of brewing a cup of tea before starting work or when friends visited. The discarded tea leaves would accumulate in the tray beneath the radiator, drying out over time until each leaf resembled a miniature sculpture. Later, I brought these tea remnants from Berlin back to China and composed a letter using the leaves. This letter remains unreadable, much like the nostalgia for China I carried in Berlin, or the longing for Berlin I now harbor upon returning to China.
